Simultaneous Interpretation Defined

This type of interpretation is where a speaker is giving their speech while an interpreter verbally transforms the words into another language in real-time. The person interpreting the speech may be sitting in a sound-proof booth equiped with microphones and headsets. The interpreter must have mastered the language being spoken as well as the language it is being converted to.

Certified Interpreters

ASI’s interpreters are accredited experts in the field of conference interpretation. They hold government and private sector certifications and technical training in their areas of discipline. All of our interpreters, in addition to their accreditation through ASI, are required to satisfy the following minimum requirements as members of ASI’s team of language experts:

○ a minimum of 10 years of interpretation / translation work experience in their areas of expertise (conference interpretation, simultaneous, consecutive or escort interpreting).

○ all interpreters working in technical, legal, business, financial, medical or scientific fields must have university training in their respective fields.
